Face Painting Safety Tip

March 1st, 2008

Although there are many secrets to creating colorful face paintings, choosing the correct paint is extremely important. Since the paint is being applied directly to a person’s skin, it is important that the paint you use is specifically designed for application on a person’s face, arm, or other portion of a person’s body.

Don’t take any chances here - it could ruin the fun of your face painting activity.

TIP: Only use FDA-compliant face paints. The same rule applies to glitter and any other items applied to a person’s skin.

Check the packaging to be sure the paints you are using (or purchasing) are specifically FDA-approved for face painting. If they are not FDA-approved, select a different product.
